LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. -
Lawrenceburg investigators last week arrested a young mother after her three small children were found to be living in deplorable conditions in the family's home.
Jenna Nixon, 23, was charged with three counts of child abuse and neglect.
During a search of her home earlier this month, investigators found filthy bedding and cockroaches.
In addition, her three small children, ages four, three and 17 months, had multiple bug bites and rashes on their bodies.
The Department of Children's Services took custody of the children. They were transported to Crockett Hospital for treatment.
Nixon arrested last Friday and booked into the Lawrence County jail on a $15,000 bond.
She is scheduled to appear in a Lawrence County courtroom on September 7.
