Franklin church destroyed by blaze

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

A Franklin church was destroyed late Monday afternoon after a fire broke out.

The fire initially sparked outside on a lawnmower and spread to Pewitt's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church located at 5506 Taylor Cemetery Road.

Church officials told Nashville's News 2 they plan to hold services on the lawn on Sunday and plan to rebuild in the future.

Authorities said the fire appears to be accidental.

No injuries were reported.
