Lebanon teen drowns in Smith County lake - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

A young man drowned Monday afternoon while swimming in Cordell Hull Lake in Smith County.
The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Patrick Masterson, a native of Lebanon.
Smith County Sheriff Steve Hopper said Masterson was swimming with friends early Monday afternoon when bystanders noticed him struggling.
Hopper said Masterson had swum out to floating dividers that keep boats out of a swimming area two or three times before he went under.
The Smith County Rescue Squad located Masterson's body at about 1:37 p.m.
The cause of the drowning is under investigation.
The swimming area was closed immediately following the drowning and has since reopened.
