It was a banner day in Indianapolis for Hendrick Motorsports with three top five finishers at the Brickyard 400.
Five-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson turned in one of his most dominate runs of the season for the victory. It was his fourth win ever at the famed track and it has him fourth in the points chase.
Johnson trails points leader and teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. by 27 points. Earnhardt Jr. took over the points lead after the best run of his career finishing fourth at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway behind Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle.
Jeff Gordon was the third Hendrick's driver in the Top five finishing fifth. Despite the strong run, Gordon still finds himself 15th in the points chase with time running out to qualify for Chase for the Championship.
