Attempted carjacking leaves man seriously injured

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man was shot early Sunday morning after an attempted carjacking in east Nashville.

According to police, the shooting occurred when the victim attempted to fight the gunman.

Metro police said the incident happened just after 12:30 a.m. at the Family Wash located near Porter Road and Greenwood Avenue in east Nashville.

The victim was shot in the neck and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries and is expected to recover.
