NEW YORK -
Good Morning America host Robin Roberts announced she will be taking a leave from the morning show to focus on her fight against a rare blood and bone marrow disease.
Roberts announced earlier this year she is battling myelodysplastic syndrome, or MDS.
Her leave of absence is scheduled to begin at the end of August as she undergoes a bone marrow transplant.
While away, ABC's Barbara Walters, Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer will be part of those filling in for her.
Roberts previously battled breast cancer in 2007.
