NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An Antioch woman has been indicted by the Davidson County grand jury for vehicular homicide stemming from a fatal incident that occurred earlier this year.

Rebecca Benson allegedly drove the wrong way down Interstate 65 on the morning of February 22 before crashing into a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Steffanie Leonard.

Leonard was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Benson was also injured in the accident. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

She told officers at the scene she thought she was in a cab.

She mentioned that she thought she was in a taxicab," Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron said previously said. "Well, she wasn't in a taxicab. She was actually driving her Lexus vehicle, the wrong way on the interstate and collided head-on with the van."

Benson was taken into police custody following her release from Vanderbilt.
