Franklin police charge wrong way driver, passenger with DUI

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

Franklin police charged a Spring Hill man and his passenger with DUI after he was pulled over for traveling down the wrong side of the road early Thursday morning.

David Diefenbaugh, 37, was pulled over on Meridian Boulevard shortly after Midnight.

He was impaired and booked into the Williamson County jail on charges of DUI, his second, driving on a suspended license and failure to maintain a lane.

Diefenbaugh's passenger, April Hicks, 37, is the registered owner of the vehicle he was driving.

She was arrested and charged with DUI by consent for allowing Diefenbaugh to drive her car drunk.

Hicks was additionally charged with possessing a drug without a prescription after pills not prescribed to her were found in her purse.

Both defendants are due in court next month.
