NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Nashville man was found guilty by a Davidson County jury Tuesday of robbing and shooting a Tennessee Department of Corrections prison guard in January of 2010.
The jury deliberated for about an hour before finding Michael McKissack guilty of especially aggravated robbery, aggravated robbery and facilitation of attempted carjacking for the attack.
McKissack was one of five co-defendants in the case, all of whom were teenagers at the time of the robbery.
Authorities said the victim, who was off-duty, had just pulled into his Lincoya Bay apartment complex when he was confronted by two of the teens.
They robbed him of his wallet and shot him in the buttocks.
All five teens were apprehended a short time later as they tried to flee the apartment complex.
McKissack will be sentenced on September 9.
Two other co-defendants have already entered guilty pleas.
Keith Potter received two consecutive nine year sentences, and his brother Cortez, who was a juvenile at the time of the robbery, received an eight year sentence.
Twin brothers Keith and Kevin Boone have pending charges.
McKissack is not the same Michael McKissack arrested this week for burglary in Hendersonville.
