A convicted burglar was arrested after he was caught breaking into a home south of downtown early Wednesday.
Twenty-five-year-old Corey Crockett was found hiding in a home on Middleton Street off Second Avenue South shortly after 12 a.m. Midnight after a resident placed a distress call.
According to a news release, Crockett allegedly broke a window to make entry into the home and was discovered hiding under a garage workbench.
An officer ordered him to surrender and he instead ran through the garage.
Crockett was taken into custody. His bond was set at $50,000.
Authorities plan to serve him a probation violation warrant in the near future.
Crockett was previously convicted for two separate incidents of motor vehicle burglary and had just begun serving a four-year probation sentence.
