A prime piece of real estate on Galleria Boulevard in the Cool Springs area is being renovated for an Aveda Institute cosmetology school.
The location formerly served as the Infiniti automotive dealership.
The new school is exciting news for Aveda salon professionals in Middle Tennessee.
"We are so excited about this institute coming. Really the power of this institute means we have a steady flow of like-minded beauty professionals, business professional coming in," said Amber Straw of J'on Alan Salon of Cool Springs.
The Aveda Institute will be the first of its kind in Tennessee and is expected to create 20 to 40 jobs.
The school is set to open by January and will teach 60 to 80 students at a time.
"It's more than just a hair cut or color. It's the experience as a whole," said former Aveda student Laura Lamb.
The Cool Springs location will be one of 13 Aveda Institutes in the southeast.
