Waste water treatment worker falls into sludge tank

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Crews rescued a man who fell into a sludge tank at a waste water treatment plant in the Bordeaux area Tuesday morning.

Firefighters and emergency crews responded to the scene on County Hospital Road off Briley Parkway shortly after 6 a.m.

The 57-year-old worker received non-life threatening injuries after falling off of a seven or eight foot ladder.

The worker was decontaminated and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
