Billy Ray Biggs Jr. was arrested Monday night in Ashland City.
ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. -
Authorities took one man into custody following a stabbing Monday night in Cheatham County.
Police told Nashville's News 2 Billy Ray Biggs Jr. stabbed his neighbor around 9 p.m. at a home located in the 100 block of Brookhollow Drive off Frey Street in Ashland City.
The victim was critically injured and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Biggs was originally charged with aggravated assault. His charges have since been upgraded to attempted second degree murder.
He remains jailed on a $50,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, August 2 if the victim, who remained hospitalized as Thursday, is able to attend.
The investigation is ongoing.
