Man, 27, faces DUI charge after backing into patrol car

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

A 27-year-old man was taken into police custody and charged with driving under the influence after he backed into a patrol car during a routine traffic stop.

Marcus Otey was pulled over on Mack Hatcher Parkway near Liberty Pike around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for having a headlight out.

Police said the Thompson's Station resident backed into the officer's car after pulling over on the roadway.

Otey is charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law and violation of the light law.

He remains jailed on a $1,500 bond.

Also over the weekend, Franklin police arrested four others for driving under the influence.
