Battery Lane in Green Hills closed all week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Battery Lane, known to many as the stretch of Harding Place between Lealand Lane and Granny White Pike, is shut down this week in preparation for upcoming bridge work.

Much like the bridges along Interstate 24, the work is long overdue.

Work hasn't been done on the bridge on Battery Lane since 1956.

This week starts some of the prep-work for construction. Actual bridge replacement will not begin until next year.

On average, nearly 15,000 vehicles travel Battery Lane every day.

The closure will continue through the end of the week.
