NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Fire crews were busy Sunday night when a Madison home's garage caught fire.
Crews arrived on the scene just after 7 p.m. at the home on Colonial Court near Heritage Lane.
Family members were in the kitchen when they noticed something that smelled odd.
A resident at the home, Steve Hunter, explained, "My wife looked in the garage and it was already flaming out of control."
He added, "We did get the dog and the kids out, now we're waiting on the snake."
Crews did not immediately know what started the fire but Hunter believes the lawnmower may have ignited.
The investigation is ongoing.
