NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A stone wall stopped a vehicle that showed no signs of braking when it ran off the roadway Monday morning in the Forest Hills area.
The accident happened just before 6 a.m. in the 5400 block of Forest Acres Drive.
Metro police told Nashville's News 2 they had to remove the passenger side door to reach the disabled driver and get him out of his wheelchair.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police said they did not know why the vehicle left the roadway and that no skid marks or signs of breaking were present.
The investigation is ongoing.
