MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
Congressional candidate Lou Ann Zelenik faces criminal contempt charges for not complying with a subpoena.
The Murfreesboro Republican was supposed to report for a deposition last Thursday, but never showed up.
Zelenik's attorney originally asked to reschedule last Wednesday after Zelenik reportedly forgot to include the appointment on her scheduled and was too busy campaigning.
After learning the date was not changed Zelenik's attorney asked to quash the subpoena, however that request was also denied.
A hearing on the contempt charge is set for September 13.
Zelenik is running against incumbent GOP Congressman Diane Black during the upcoming election.
