Man charged with rape after offering woman ride from bar

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A south Nashville man has been charged with the rape of a 29-year-old woman who he offered to drive home from a downtown bar last January.

Police said Jassim Al-Raash drove the victim to a park near his residence where he forced her out of his maroon Dodge Intrepid and raped her in a wooded area.

Police said they believe the 47-year-old man could have victimized other females after offering to drive them home.

Al-Raash is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
