CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A surprise homecoming is set to be held on Sunday for wounded soldier Scott Schroeder of Clarksville.

Schroeder lost both of his legs after his humvee exploded in December 2010 while he was serving in Afghanistan.

Since the incident, the 25-year-old war veteran has undergone 18 months of rehabilitation and 35 surgeries.

Schroeder now gets around with the help of two state-of-the-art prosthetic legs.

A ceremony honoring Schroeder is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Beachaven Winery located in Clarksville at 100 Dunlop Lane.

The surprise picnic will include food, drinks and music on the winery's grounds.

Local sponsors for the free event include Budweiser of Clarksville, Queen City Restaurant Supply and Beachaven Winery.
