NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
The Metropolitan Board of Public Education released their operating budget approved for the 2012-2013 school year.
The board approved $720,420,300 which includes a request for 90 more teachers and two percent raises for support staff.
According to the released budget, all teachers will get a minimum of a two percent raise in addition to any step raises that are due.
All teachers in the first five years of work will receive a minimum salary of $40,000. In the past, the minimum was $35,000.
