Gunmen rob Antioch convenience store

Metro police are searching for two suspects who robbed an Antioch gas station late Wednesday night.

According to police, the suspects entered the Mapco in the 700 block of Bell Road off Hickory Hollow Terrace and not far from the Kroger grocery store.

The two were wearing masks and carrying chrome and black semi-automatic handguns.

They demanded money from the from two clerks before fleeing the scene in a silver Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition driven by a third person.

The night shift clerk was arriving for work as the suspects fled and noted the car tag number as they made their getaway.

Officers ran the tag number and said the vehicle was marked stolen earlier in the day.

A detailed description of the suspects was not immediately released.

Police planned to release surveillance video of the robbery later on Thursday.
