Heat, humidity, heavy storms...

Posted:

Most of this evenings lingering storms are west of I-65 and actually closer to the TN River.  Still, there are clusters of torrential rain and thousands of lightning strikes with those storms and it may take a while even after sun set (8:01pm) for these to weaken.  They are moving south to southwest.

Dry and muggy for most of us overnight with lows near 74 degrees.

Hot and humid again Thursday with isolated to scattered storms popping in the midday and afternoon heat.  Again, heavy rain, lightning, some gusty winds and small hail are likely with some of these storms.

Unfortunately, lightning triggered a house fire in Clarksville which gutted the home.  A minor was home at the time but escaped with the family pets.  We will have the full story on News 2 at 10.
