CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Clarksville homeowner was arrested Tuesday for setting fire to his own home earlier this month in order to collect the insurance money.

Authorities opened an investigation following the fire at Louie Daughtry's home on Oakland Road on the morning of July 4.

An anonymous tip led investigators to determine that Daughtry poured gasoline inside his garage and set it on fire.

According to a new release, Daughtry was heard talking about burning the house down and was observed pouring gasoline inside the garage while approximately 60 people were at his home the night before for a party.

The residence, valued at approximately $130,000, was determined to be a total loss.

Daughtry, 31, was charged with arson and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $50,000 bond.
