FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

State Route 840 was shut down in Williamson County following a rockslide midday Tuesday between Peytonsville-Trinity Road and Interstate 65.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the rocks entered the roadway in the eastbound lanes around 12 p.m. Noon.

Officials on the scene said an 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound at the time and hit some of the rocks as they fell.

The truck crossed the median before coming to a stop in the westbound lanes.

There was no oncoming traffic and the driver was no injured.

Both the east and westbound lanes of State Route 840 were impacted.

TDOT crews used heavy equipment to clear the road and a tow truck was brought to the scene to two away the semi-truck.

Williamson County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted with traffic control in the area.

Traffic was moving again in both directions by 3 p.m.
