FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
On Monday afternoon Chief David Rahinsky welcomed Chris Gentry as the department's newest deputy police chief.
Gentry was selected from a pool of six internal candidates who competed for the position.
"I am proud to congratulate Chris, he is a talented individual whose skills will be put to good use," said Chief David Rahinsky. "His promotion will help further the Franklin Police Department's goal of providing professional, progressive, and responsive law enforcement services to a growing and dynamic city."
Gentry added, "I am very humbled by Chief Rahinsky's selection and expression of trust in my abilities. I look forward to working closely with him to manage the department as we provide the best law enforcement services possible."
Deputy Chief Gentry has a Master of Science degree from Indiana University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
He has served Franklin County since 1990.
