FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

The U.S. Olympic team may not be wearing American made uniforms during the opening ceremony in London, but another Olympic team will be sporting products made in Middle Tennessee during the games.

The Brazilian Olympic equestrian team is using saddle pads produced by Wilker's Custom Horse Products in Cool Springs.

"It's fun to know that somebody is actually wanting to use your product in another country and that if I'm watching the Olympics and see the team ride I can say, ‘Hey, that's something our country made,'" said owner Marvin Wilker.

The business made a dozen white custom saddle pads with kelly green and yellow trim and piping for the team.

"They specifically asked for our product because we could do the custom colors," said Wilker.

An embroidery business out of state later added the Brazilian flag to both sides of the saddle pads.

"I think people are starting to realize made in America is good for everybody," said Wilker.

A firestorm erupted last week when it was discovered that the U.S. team's outfits were manufactured in China.

The Summer Olympics kick off in London on Friday, July 27.
