Man charged in south Nashville restaurant stabbing

Jose Chavez was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated assault.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police charged a man with aggravated assault following an argument and stabbing at a south Nashville restaurant Sunday night.

Officers responded to Las Cazuelas Mexican Grill located on Nolensville Pike around 10:15 p.m. to find a man with a stab wound to the abdomen.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, Jose Chavez, was taken into custody and later admitted to the stabbing.

Additional information was not released.
