CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Police arrested a 51-year-old Clarksville man Sunday after he called 911 repeatedly in search of his girlfriend.

According to the Clarksville police incident report, Cedric Gibson first called 911 shortly after 8 a.m. to report his girlfriend missing.

Further investigation revealed the woman was not missing and was safe.  Her family told investigators they did not want Gibson to know her whereabouts.

Two hours later, around 10:45 a.m., police said Gibson called 911 again inquiring about his girlfriend and again at 12:30 p.m. accusing police of holding the woman hostage.

He told dispatchers he did not believe they were being truthful about her whereabouts and stated he would keep calling 911 until he found her.

Officers responded to Gibson's Ridgeline Drive home and arrested him.

He told police he called 911 to check on the welfare of his girlfriend because he had not heard from her since Thursday, the report stated.

He was charged calling 911 to report a non-emergency and booked into the Montgomery County jail.
