Toddler, woman struck by gunfire in Birmingham - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Police were continuing to investigate what led to a toddler and a woman being hit by gunfire in the Gate City area.
WBRC-TV reports that the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Saturday.
The two-year-old, who was shot in the leg while playing in the yard, was taken to a hospital.
Birmingham police Sgt. Thomas Ryan says the toddler is expected to recover from the gunshot wound.
Authorities say a woman was also grazed by flying bullets.
Police say she was also taken to a hospital.
Her injuries were described as not life-threatening.
