NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Five hotels and two banks were held up by one man within a 72-hour period, according to Metro police.
Jamal Bekhtyar, 25, was first wanted Friday after he tried to rob the Bank of America on Church Street.
Shortly after, police said he successfully held up the Bank of America on Blakemore Avenue.
Police said in each case the suspect gave the clerk a robbery demand note and implied he had a weapon before driving off in a black Volkswagen Jetta.
The following two days, Bekhtyar went on to rob or attempt to rob five hotels.
Two robberies occurred in Goodlettsville at the Comfort Suites on Rivergate Parkway and at the Holiday Inn Express on Moss Trail.
The three other robberies were in areas surrounding Nashville. Two Hampton Inns were targeted including one located on Franklin Pike Circle in Brentwood and on Coley Davis Road in Nashville.
The third attempted robbery occurred at Comfort Inn on Hester Circle in White House.
Police charged Bekhtyar with attempted robbery and robbery for two incidents.
Additional charges are pending.
