Toddler dies in Union County fire


LUTTRELL, Tenn. (AP) - A young boy has died after a blaze at a mobile home in East Tennessee.

Union County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Butcher told WBIR-TV that the child who died was likely 2-3 years old, but his name wasn't released.

Police said the fire was reported late Saturday afternoon at the home, which sits off the roadway in a heavily wooded area of Luttrell. Butcher says the young boy's family tried to fight the blaze before help arrived, but they weren't able to save the child.

Butcher the cause of the blaze is still being investigated, but no foul place is suspected.
