Mother, son jailed after body found at Smyrna boat ramp

SMYRNA, Tenn. -

Police arrested a mother and son after finding the body of the woman's boyfriend at the West Fork Boat Ramp located on Percy Priest Lake.

The discovery was made around 2 p.m. Saturday off Florence Road in Smyrna.

An investigation revealed the victim, 38-year-old Steven Carlton, had been shot and the shooting occurred at the Ashley Grove Apartments in Smyrna.

Smyrna police arrested Carlton's girlfriend, 36-year-old Christina Magaddino, and her son, 20-year-old Ryan Allen Roe, for the crime.

Roe is charged with first degree murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. 

Magaddino is charged with accessory to murder after the fact, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. 

Both remained in the Rutherford County jail Monday.    
 
Police have not released a motive for the fatal shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
