MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
Police arrested a Murfreesboro man earlier this week for attempting to rape a 12-year-old girl.
Enrique Martinez, 40, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery.
According to the arrest report, the victim told police she fell asleep on a loveseat and when she awoke Martinez had his hand up her shirt and was fondling her breasts.
Martinez asked the girl if she ever thought about touching him and then tried to get her to perform oral sex on him, the report stated.
Martinez fled the scene after the girl picked up a fork in an attempt to defend herself.
Martinez was located and arrested and later admitted to the allegations.
He was booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $150,000 bond.
A court appearance is set for August 9.
