2 charged with trading truck for baby

LONDON, Ky. (AP) - Two southeastern Kentucky residents have been charged with trading a pickup truck for a newborn child.

The Laurel County sheriff's department said Thursday that Jeremy and Jamiee Brown of Corbin were arrested on charges of human trafficking and lodged in the Laurel County jail.

Officials believe the vehicle was later sold to a third party in Laurel County for $800.

The sheriff's department says the baby, who is now 6 months old, has been placed with social services, and the Browns' three other children are with relatives.

Authorities say they are seeking a warrant for the baby's mother.
