WESTMORELAND, Tenn. -

Sumner County authorities arrested two robbery suspects at a home in Westmoreland following an argument and subsequent shooting early Thursday morning.

According to investigators with the Sumner County Sheriff's Office, Robert Carmen and Casey Conyer planned to travel to Cookeville to commit an armed robbery.

A third individual was with the pair although there was no immediate indication he knew about the planned robbery.

On the way, investigators said plans changed and the trio got into an argument.

At some point, a gun discharged, striking Carmen in the face but he did not immediately seek medical attention.

The trio returned to the Westmoreland home located at 1407 Locust Street, about 45 miles northeast of Nashville, and another scuffle broke out.

Deputies responded to the home and transported Carmen to the hospital for the gunshot wound.  He was arrested upon discharge from the hospital and charged for his involvement in a robbery on June 28 at Sam's Market on Highway 25.

Conyer was also arrested for her involvement in market robbery.

Both are suspects in two other robberies, detectives said.

The third individual was not arrested and was not charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
