ANDERSON, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a woman died while saving a child from a burning home in Anderson.

Firefighters tell WAFF-TV the woman stayed in the home to get the child after it became fully engulfed by flames Wednesday morning on County Road 50.

Investigators say the woman's husband was able to get out of the home with one child, while she stayed inside to save the other.

Authorities say she was able to hand the child to her husband through an open window, but did not make it out herself and perished in the blaze.

The woman's name wasn't immediately released, and few other details were available late Wednesday morning.

Investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
