A Cookeville dad got more than he bargained for when he checked his 12-year-old daughter's Facebook account and found explicit messages from a 40-year-old Monterey man.
The father decided to take matters into his own hands and, posing as his daughter, set up a meeting with the man at a Cookeville park.
The two met Saturday at Cane Creek Park and a fight broke out.
The dad hit the man, bloodying his nose, according to the Cookeville Herald-Citizen.
The Monterey man told investigators he only wanted to be friends with the girl but admitted that he shouldn't have agreed to meet her.
He added that he "knew the girl he was meeting was 12 years old and that he deserved what her dad had done to him."
No charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing.
