NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Well-known restaurant Calhoun's closed its White Bridge Road location Tuesday after an offer they couldn't refuse, according to owner Bartt Fricks.
Fricks told Nashville's News 2 business at the west Nashville restaurant was good but the buyer's offer for the property was just too good to pass up.
A nearby Chinese Restaurant was also sold.
There was no notice given to Calhoun's 52 employees, who found themselves out of a job. Some who gathered in the parking lot Wednesday afternoon told News 2 it was the first they heard of the closing.
Calhoun's opened on White Bridge Road in 1987. The restaurant was purchased for $1 million.
It was last appraised at $1.87 million earlier this year.
The Calhoun's location on Gallatin Road North in Rivergate is still open.
