Can you believe it? We are actually ABOVE NORMAL for rainfall so far this July thanks to the rain over the last several days in Nashville. However, we are almost 6" below normal for the year.
Although today's activity is expected to be widely scattered, we are anticipating a much more widespread area of rain and t'showers to push across the area on Thursday as low pressure pushes out of Mississippi into Middle Tennessee along a stationary front.
Some areas could see well over 2" of rain on Thursday that could even cause some localized street flooding in spots. In fact our local NWS office says there could be 2-4" in some spots east of I-65, and 3-5" west.
We had better take what we can get because it looks like this weekend and especially next week, only isolated t'showers will occur with temperatures pushing into the low to mid 90s along with humidity that could put the heat index in the 100° range.
