MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Blount County say a Knoxville man has been struck and killed by a train.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that deputies were called to the CSX Railroad tracks just after Midnight on Wednesday morning to investigate a call about a pedestrian that had been struck by a train.

Deputies found 54-year-old Scott Allan Bowers, of Knoxville, lying beside the tracks and he had no pulse and was not breathing.

The investigation into the man's death is ongoing, but the sheriff's office said no foul play is suspected.
