MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
A 33-year old Murfreesboro man was arrested last week for giving marijuana to a teenage girl and raping her on at least one occasion.
Murfreesboro police learned of the case after the victim told her school resource officer.
According to the Murfreesboro arrest report, last October, Eugene Thomas III invited the girl to a local motel to "get high."
The teen reported she entered the room and Thomas began kissing her and proceeded to have sex with her.
She stated she tried to pull away and told Thomas "No" several times.
The case was presented to a grand jury and Thomas was indicted on one count each of aggravated statutory rape, possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
He was arrested Friday and booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $10,000 bond.
Thomas is scheduled to appear in court on July 16.
