Rain Chances Increasing; Cooler Temps On The Way

Posted:

Many in Nashville were awakened by lightning and thunder late Saturday night.  This picture from, Clarence Bennett in Nashville.

We are anticipating a high in the mid to upper 90s today with about a 50% chance for scattered t'storms.  Some storms could again contain damaging winds and hail.

Although the actual temperature is not expected to reach 100° today, the humidity is higher so the heat index should be 100-105°.

Rain chances increase to 70% on Monday as a cool front pushes into the mid-state.  This should be much more widespread and even stick around through Tuesday from Nashville southward.

Starting Monday, temps will drop to the 80s for highs, and there is no excessive heat in the forecast.

Though it should dry out somewhat on Wednesday-Thursday, rain chances may increase again towards the end of the week into next weekend.
