Fatal Fed-Ex truck crash slows I-40 in Humphreys County

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. -

One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash involving a tandem Fed-Ex tractor trailer truck Friday afternoon on Interstate 40 in Humphreys County.

The crash was reported at 2 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 145 near Hurricane Mills.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said only the Fed-Ex truck was involved and the investigation into what caused the wreck is ongoing.

One eastbound of I-40 was closed and the THP estimated it would be 10 p.m. before the scene was cleared.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
