Clarksville police search for 17-year-old runaway

Clarksville police are working to locate a 17-year-old runaway who was last seen in mid-June.

According to police, Crystal Gilliland left her home in the 400 block of Appleton Drive on June 16 to stay with a nearby friend.

Family members reported since her departure she has called several times from a Nashville phone number, saying she was visiting a friend who was in Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Gilliland's parents said they told their daughter to return home, at which time she refused.

The minor has since quit communicating with her family and her location remains unknown.

Police said Gilliland has been known to use differently last names including Taylor, Deretz and Shaw, as well as different dates of birth.
