Metro police arrested two 18-year-olds over the Fourth of July holiday in two separate fireworks incidents.
In the first incident, investigators said Juwane Williams was walking on Second Avenue near Commerce Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday when he fired a Roman candle firework at undercover police officers in the area.
Williams attempted to flee but was quickly taken into custody and charged with three counts of aggravated assault against a police officer, two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.
He was booked into the Metro jail on a $52,000 bond.
In the second case, officers observed Michael Beasley, who is homeless, shoot bottle rocket fireworks into traffic Thursday at 2 a.m. on 3rd Avenue North and Broadway.
Beasley was jailed for the fireworks violation and disorderly conduct.
He is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond.
