NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

One boat was destroyed during a fire at the Nashville Shores Marina early Wednesday morning.

The fire started around Midnight at the marina located in the 3900 block of Bell Road.

The marina is not affiliated with the Nashville Shores water park although is located nearby.

An electrical fire sparked on one boat. A nearby boat was also damaged.

According to officials, the boat that caught fire was initially having trouble in the water and the driver decided to dock it for a while.

After the boat appeared to be okay, the driver left.  The fire sparked sometime after he left.

Several witnesses quickly removed oxygen tanks from the boat so they wouldn't ignite.

Chris Day was boating nearby with his family and noticed the boat on fire.

He immediately reacted by diving in the water and cutting a nearby boat loose.

"I noticed the boat had turned close to the boat next to it so I basically untied the back of it [and] then got down in the water," he said, adding, "I cut the rope so we could get that boat out so there wouldn't be further damage or that one catch on fire and spread down the dock, boat to boat."

No injuries were reported and no fuel was spilled during the fire.
