Mid-State child rape suspect taken into custody in Texas

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. -

A man wanted by the Lawrenceburg police on child rape charges has been taken into police custody in El-Paso, Texas.

Twenty-five-year-old Gerard Robinson was recently indicted by a grand jury on three counts of rape of a child and six counts of statutory rape.

Robinson was taken into custody early Tuesday morning following tips from news media viewers.

Robinson will be extradited back to Tennessee in the near future to face his charges.

No additional information was released.
