Maxwell Gene Mulvey was arrested after an officer found him huffing an air duster outside a Walmart.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
A man was arrested Tuesday for huffing chemicals for 12 hours in the parking lot of a Clarksville Walmart.
According to a police report, a Walmart employee called 911 around 4 a.m. to report that there was a man huffing an air duster in a car parked at 1680 Fort Campbell Boulevard.
An officer responded to the scene, and caught the man, identified as Maxwell Gene Mulvey, in the act.
The officer tried to get Mulvey, 40, to open his car door, but he was unresponsive and still actively huffing the air duster.
The officer used his baton to make entry into the car from the back passenger window, and then he removed the air duster from Mulvey's nose and mouth.
Mulvey admitted to the officer that he had been huffing since 4 p.m. Monday.
He was transported to Gateway Medical Center for treatment and then taken into custody and booked in the Montgomery County Jail.
