NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Metro police officer was in the right place at the right time when passing by a car accident Sunday morning and discovering a robbery in progress.
Officer Christopher Seufer discovered a robbery in progress as he was responding to a car wreck he noticed while traveling along Rosa Parks Boulevard at Vantage Way.
According to a police report, the victim, on her way to make a deposit for work, was hit by a black Dodge Charger from behind.
The passenger in the Charger approached the woman and asked if she was alright. Immediately after, he opened her door and grabbed the bank deposit bags.
As officer Seufer approached the incident, the suspected robber, Dereck Miles, fled on food as his accomplice drove away.
Miles was taken into custody shortly after. He was charged with robbery and evading arrest. His bond was set at $35,000.
Miles was previously charged with aggravated robbery, second degree murder, robbery, and theft.
